無題

昨日は久しぶりの酷暑無い、25度の気温だったので練習設備のあるゴルフ場で練習をしよう！と先日しこたま打って血豆ができている足指を引きずりながら涼やかな風を切ってゴルフ場に到着。
独り静かに練習開始。
するとどころからともなく、機械測定器をもった3人のサラリーマンが登場。
その後約1時間後、長身のプロゴルファーらしき人が派手な真っ赤な衣装と帽子を後ろかぶりにして登場。
その会話のテンションの高いこと。
練習場は私以外のいなく屋外でいつもは静かに蝉の声が聞こえる程度ですが、ぺちゃくちゃぺちゃくちゃ。到着した際に私に向って「お疲れさんです！」
俺は芸能人じゃない！
ま、それから2時間、星野ジャヤパンの実況を携帯で見ながら、あ～だ、こ～だと
声高におしゃべりするので参りました。

芸能人といっても誰だか分らないしでもスウィングはしっかりしていました。でもちょっと打っては小休止、小休止の間は携帯で野球観戦。
あんな機械測定を何に使うのかな～というのが不思議でなりませんでした。
早々に退散したのは言うまでもありません。

大声でぺちゃくちゃは、日本文化ですね。周りへの配慮も頭の隅におくのもマナーではないでしょうかね

前回登場してもらったDaveは家の土地が800平米です。だからわざわざ練習場に行ってShort gameの練習をする必要がありません～。

Good to here you are feeling better. I personally have had a nagging virus of some sort on and off for some time, hasn’t stopped me from playing golf though. We have moved to a house on acreage at Coolum Chase, I have an 800 SqM block to chip around so haven’t been to the Hyatt to practice lately.

I have played at a few different courses lately including Horton Park, Peregian Springs, Headland and Tweed Heads Coolangatta as well as playing at Mt Coolum at least on Thursdays and Saturdays. How did you go in the monthly medal at the Hyatt last Monday, I was away but am looking forward to playing in the next.

Will keep you in mind for a Tuesday spot in the near future.

Tomorrow , Thursday I am playing at Mt Coolum in the Thursday comp, so unavailable for the Hyatt. On Friday I am playing in a Vets day at Caloundra.  I am going to play in the monthly medal.

The week at the gold coast was good except for the first day at Robina where my first tee shot was hit high left and out of bounds, followed by another exactly in the same direction. I couldn't work out what had happened to my swing. Struggled the whole day for 20 points.
The next day was at Palm Meadows where I had 36 points. Wednesday was not a comp day but my roommate and I went to Parkwood International and played. We played off the back tees and I had 37 points.
On Thursday we played at Royal Pines and I really struck form. A couple of bad chips cost me but I still managed 37 points.
Friday we were off to the Glades , probably the best course of all I have mentioned. We encountered a strong south easterly similar to today, and I played ok to have 31points. I did beat about 160 players to score a nearest the pin on the 3rd hole.
My only success for the week. I drove home in the early hours of Saturday morning to play at Mt Coolum, teeing off at 6.32am. Played quite well to lose on a count back in A grade with 39 points. Next day I was going for my 7th day in a row at the 9 wine and dine at the Hyatt but the storm scared me off. Played in a Vets day at Mt Coolum on Monday and had 37 points.
Will see you on Monday for the MM if not before.

Melbourne Cup

オーストラリアの競馬好きは有名ですね。その中でも１１月に開催されるメルボルン・カップは男女が正装しその日は「国民の休日」に近いほど大騒ぎになります。
このメルボルン・カップに優勝したのがJohn Marshallです。
彼は引退しHyatt Regency-Coolumのゴルフメンバーでいつもず～と年上のGeorgeといっしょにゴルフをしてます。メルボルン・カップは下記の写真の様に
女性は帽子をかぶって正装。ちゃんと競馬場では「素敵な帽子をかぶった綺麗な女性のコンテスト」がありTVでも中継されます。競馬場は朝から完全なパーティ会場状態で正装した方々がシャンパンを片手に楽しんでいますよ。
